The Slaughter Family (originally from Charlottesville, VA.)

James Nicholas Slaughter (1882 - 1961) and Harriett Gibbs Slaughter (1890 - 1975) of Charlottesville, VA have left a long, long legacy. Their 12 children are:

A Message from Nick Johnson


hi Slaughter family with special shoutout to our family pioneer ms. gaskins blazin' thr trail to unity
i wanted to share in these 1st 4 days of the year 4 blessings
1st the good Lord let me see this year
2nd he excited Irene onto this brave venture
3rd i'm reconnting w/family old and new and
4th the owner of my building called to tell me she would not raise my rent for those of us on pension and ss
we know the meaning of that praise the Lord
i am truly blessed 4 for 4 but who's counting
lets make honey out of Irene's beautiful gift to our family God bless us all

I am triply blessed to view your photos, family, and hear from you regularly thanks to the fortuitous blessing of Cousin Irene and her creation of this esteemed Slaughter family group blog. I wish you the best in your travels through life. You were quite the distinguished elder statesman on the U.S. Forrestal. I spotted you a mile away, actually all the way from California to D. C.

    I have the eyes of an eagle and the reach of a hawk...

    P.S. Did Cliff contact you? He has been fairly busy these past few months. I'm sure that he will email you soon one of these days in the not too distant future...God willing and the creek don't rise, so to speak... And if the creek rises, why, we'll just break out the lifeboats and paddle like mad to the seashore:)
